Looking for something to engage your kids this summer and teach them about giving back in their community? Participate in Mission Lexington’s Kid Cadets summer enrichment program!

Kid Cadets is an interactive learning program for parents/adults to help their child complete both at home and through different opportunities at Mission Lexington and throughout the county. The purpose of Kid Cadets is to engage school-aged kids in the growth of Mission Lexington so that they can be ambassadors within their own communities. By giving them a mission every week, we can guide them as they learn to volunteer and support others.

Each week, there will be a theme and action items to discuss and do at home together. Some weeks, there are special events and exciting opportunities to visit other locations.

Each child will need to accrue 10 points or punches on their badge to graduate, and they will be given many fun opportunities to do so. Kids and their parents can document their achievements by taking pictures of their activities and posting them on Facebook and Twitter, tagging @MissionLexSC and using #MLKidCadets.

This year, we have 3 separate curriculum- Elementary Cadets (Rising 4k-5th), Middle School (Rising 6-8 grade) Captains, and High School (Rising 9-12 grade) Majors.

Elementary Kid Cadets Program* (Rising 4k – 5th grade): June 14th – July 31st

Middle School Captains Program (Rising 6th -8th grade): Week of June 17 – 21st

High School Majors Program (Rising 9th – 12th grade): Week of June 24 – 28th

It’s just $25 per child to participate in Kid Cadets! Registration is required to participate. Registration includes t-shirt, badge, Cadet Manual, and opportunities to participate in special on-site and off-site events. We have scholarships available if there is a barrier that prevents your family from paying. Please email christie@missionlexingtonsc.org for info.

* Please note that any activities for Elementary-age children at Mission Lexington or off-site will require a parent or guardian to stay with the child(ren). Most events will be no longer than one hour, unless indicated.
